I would be more than happy to give Bob my endorsement, and you can use me for a reference. In my line of work, we need builders that we can trust, to go out of town and build a home, and build it right. I don't need builders who leave problems behind. Bobby has earned my trust to be on my short list of builders who qualify for projects that require a great deal of detail and craftsmanship. I have seen the homes Bobby built for his brother (2 homes) and his sister’s home. All of them are very nice. As you know, I recommended Bobby to Richard Pleet last year to do the addition on his log home. They had never met till Bobby showed up to do the work. When the project was done, Richard called me to tell me what a great job Bob did for him and he would have no problem recommending him to anyone else. More proof of my confidence in Bobby is the fact that he will be starting another one of my personal customers homes, in North Central North Dakota, on or about February 16th, 2007. Yes, you can use me as a reference anytime.

Subject: Construction Reference

To whom it may concern,
I am writing this as a reference for Bob Douglas.  Bob has worked for me on my family's estate on Madeline Island in Wisconsin and I have always been impressed not only by his impeccable craftsmanship, but his strong work ethic and integrity.  The largest home on our property is an almost one hundred year old cabin that's historical value is important not only to my family, but the island itself.  Bob showed great respect and concern for maintaining the same level of care that originally went into the details of the cabin when major repairs have had to been made.
It is because of this, that my husband and I have decided to hire Douglas Homes to build another home for us this coming summer.  Bob is really more than just a home-builder; he is an artisan whose attention to detail and honest approach to his clients is truly admirable.  I highly recommend him.  You may contact me for further information.

Best Regards,

Dear Bob,

Thank you so much for the wonderful work you did on renovating my dance studio.  Your sensitivity to my budget and the ideas you gave me to keep my costs down are truly appreciated.  I have been through construction projects numerous times and this is the first time I've completed a job feeling totally satisfied with the work.
I walk around the studio daily thinking how fantastic it looks with a smile on my face.

You are a gifted contractor.

Thank you.

Hello Bob,
We're so sorry that we didn't take before and after pictures of the fabulous transformation you accomplished when you renovated one of our homes in North Lake Tahoe.  Your craftmanship, work ethic and honesty reminded me so much of my father who was also a master carpenter and builder.  Through observing my father, and also working on site with Real Estate developer/builders, I learned how to tell the difference between ordinary and excellent craftsmanship. You are a master craftsman. You also finished the renovation job on time as scheduled.

We will enthusiatically refer Bob Douglas Sierra Green Builders to our friends and acquaintances.

Thanks again,
Mr. and Mrs. Warren Bray

Bob Douglas has built two houses for me, and both of them exceeded my expectations. He listened to my ideas and worked to make each house one that would feel like home.  The houses have been built with care and precision. He does sturdy and strong framework and detailed finish carpentry. Not only does he do solid construction, but Bob knows how to make a home look good. From the stonework on fireplaces, to the custom trim work for shelves, doors and stairs, every detail contributes to the overall beauty of each home. I would definitely recommend Bob to anyone looking to build their new home.

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is a recommendation with regard to the character and craftsmanship skills of Mr. Bob Douglas. I first became acquainted with Bob approximately 5 years ago. Bob served as the primary builder on my log home on Madeline Island, which is in the Apostle Island National Lakeshore Preserve in Lake Superior.
This was approximately a 2 year project with a value of just under one million dollars. The house is a Minde Log Home, which is a designer hand cut hand hewn log design. With the exception of constructing the log shell, the electrical wiring and pouring of the basement concrete, Bob was the primary craftsman that oversaw and completed almost every aspect of the carpentry and mason work required to complete the project.
I found Bob to be easy and agreeable to work with. His skills and attention to detail are above average. He is reliable and trust worthy and has a good work ethic.
I recommend him without reservation. Feel free to contact me if you have further questions.

Regards,
Jerry L. Browne MD

Re: Bob Douglas and Douglas Construction

To Whom it May Concern:

Our firm, Paul's Marine and Mechanical, has been in the construction business since 1968. I personally have been associated with light commercial and residential construction for 52 years.
We have worked on many projects from single cabins to exclusive high end homes which included log homes. Since our firm also does management construction, I first met Bob on one of the projects we were managing. The home was a Minde Log Home. Bob was working for a subcontractor from Cannon Falls, MN who was building the log roof system. When he talked to me about moving to Madeline Island, I encouraged him to do so. Since that time, he has been the general contractor on several of our projects.

The reason that we have chosen him to tackle these projects were:
1. He is an excellent craftsman
2. He is very serious about the project he is working on.
3. He gets along well with other contractors who are working on the project.
4. His prices are fair and the costs are where they should be.
5. When he give you a completion date you can count on it as he does one project at a time, and he will work long hours to meet that completion date.

All of the above are the reasons we like to use Bob on our projects. Not only does he make it easy to manage a project, but he also makes us look good. Currently, Bob and his crew are working on a rather expansive project which includes a very high end 2 story large home and a large detached 3 stall garage with a guest apartment. The home will have an elevator, and a sunken orthopedic pool with a stainless steel tread mill in it. Also, there will be a Hill Hiker Tram that will go down at a 45 degree slope 150 feet to the large private boat dock. This is a million dollar plus project. The project is on schedule and the owners are pleased.

I could go on and on. It will be our loss if Bob goes out West to build your new home as we certainly can keep him busy, and when he returns to Madeline Island (La Pointe, WI) we will have other homes for him to build.  If you would like to review his work, I would suggest that you either drive or take a light plane and fly up to Madeline Island. We have a hard surface air strip.  Either I or my son Paul will meet you, and we will show you both the inside and the out side of 3 projects Bob has worked on. You could also contact the owners. If you request if, I will give you their names, address and phone numbers. You could than judge for yourself Bob's workmanship.

If you wish to receive any further information, please email me and I will gladly address your questions or concerns. paulsmarine@chegnet.net
